Responsibilities

Ready To Build the Data Pipelines That Keep Healthcare Operations Running at Scale?

Why This Role Matters

Bad data doesn't just slow things down — in healthcare, it affects member eligibility, claims accuracy, and client trust. As a Data Engineer on the TPA DataOps team, you build and maintain the pipelines, transformations, and quality checks that keep data moving accurately across clients, vendors, and internal systems. The work is technical and precise, and the downstream impact is real.

What You'll Actually Do

Build and maintain data pipelines: Design and implement pipelines using SQL, Kafka, and related technologies — extracting, cleansing, and loading data across systems with accuracy and scale in mind.

Write and automate complex SQL: Develop transformation configurations, ad-hoc reports, and automated scripts — including pivots, window functions, and complex date calculations in Microsoft SQL Server.

Monitor pipeline performance and resolve issues: Track execution, identify failures, and work collaboratively to fix problems before they reach clients or downstream systems.

Implement data quality checks: Build and enforce quality controls that keep data consistent and accurate across the pipeline from source to destination.

Investigate and document new data sets: Analyze incoming data sources, parse flat file structures and EDI X12 formats, and document findings to support integration and ongoing operations.

Translate across tech stacks: Move data transformation logic and pipeline architecture from legacy systems to modern stacks — maintaining fidelity and functionality through the transition.
