Responsibilities

Ready To Be the First Point of Contact That Keeps Pre-Certification Moving for Members and Providers?

 

Why This Role Matters

Pre-certification is a critical gateway in the healthcare process — delays or errors here ripple downstream for members and providers alike. This role sits at the front line of that process, routing calls, gathering the right information, and making sure service requests reach the right teams without unnecessary friction.

 

What You'll Actually Do

 

Answer and route incoming calls: Handle all inbound phone traffic professionally, directing callers to the appropriate department or resource efficiently.

Support the pre-certification process: Gather demographic, non-clinical, and provider data from members and providers via phone, fax, and web-based systems to facilitate pre-certification requests.

Manage and triage service requests: Review incoming requests and route them to the appropriate department, keeping case movement on track within required turnaround windows.

Maintain accurate case documentation: Enter and maintain complete case records, compile monthly reports, and keep logs and files current and organized.

Meet daily productivity and quality standards: Consistently hit productivity, quality, and turnaround time targets on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

 

Qualifications

What You Bring to Our Team

Education & Experience

  • Associate degree preferred in business, management, or a related field
  • Prior experience in customer service and/or a medical background
  • Prior insurance and/or claims experience
  • Experience in medical front office, hospital patient intake, or medical claims processing preferred

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Accurate data entry at 40 WPM minimum
  • Experience managing high volumes of inbound customer service calls
