Why This Role Matters

Every product delivery team needs someone who can bridge the gap between business requirements and production-ready code — and own what happens when things go wrong. This Tech Lead role is that person: driving architecture decisions, setting development standards, and keeping the team technically sharp from sprint planning through production support. The platform you help build serves real members navigating their health, which means what you ship and how you build it matters.

What You'll Actually Do

Lead design and delivery of platform features: Spearhead the design, development, and testing of new features, components, and enhancements across web and mobile surfaces.

Set and defend technical direction: Lead architecture discussions, establish development standards and SOPs, and guide technical decisions within and across teams.

Own the sprint from a technical perspective: Drive grooming, planning, and kick-off ceremonies — translating business requirements into sequenced user stories, subtasks, and estimates that keep the team moving.

Review code and raise the bar: Perform code reviews, enforce coding standards, and actively push for new tools and technologies where they improve quality or velocity.

Resolve production issues with urgency: Take operational ownership of production incidents, diagnose root causes, and drive timely resolution.

Reduce technical debt systematically: Identify debt, develop strategies to address it, and advocate for the time and resources to execute.

Coach junior engineers: Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentorship to less experienced team members, helping them grow in craft and confidence.

What You Bring to Our Team

Education & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering

Technical Skills

• Expert-level proficiency in Java and/or .NET (or similar), building services and APIs for web and mobile applications
• Strong front-end technology knowledge and experience with Design Systems
• Solid understanding of the full software development lifecycle, including testing, monitoring, and design best practices
• Experience with object-oriented programming principles
• Ability to articulate and implement design strategies covering scalability, maintainability, performance, security, and usability

Work Environment

• Hybrid: minimum 3 days per week in office
