We're seeking a detail-oriented professional who understands that exceptional customer service sets the foundation for quality healthcare management. As our Intake Specialist, you'll handle customer requests with precision while gathering critical information that supports our utilization management decision-making process.

What You'll Actually Do

Manage customer interactions: Respond to and route all incoming customer requests while providing accurate information about pre-certification processes via phone, fax, and various systems.

 

Gather critical information: Collect demographic, non-clinical, and provider data for pre-certification using multiple computer software programs and communication channels.

 

Review and route requests: Analyze service requests and manage them efficiently, involving appropriate departments as needed for optimal resolution.

 

Maintain documentation: Perform comprehensive data entry, maintain complete case information, assist in document maintenance, compile monthly reports, and manage logs and files.

 

Meet performance standards: Achieve productivity, quality, and turnaround time requirements on daily, weekly, and monthly basis while supporting team excellence.

Qualifications

What You Bring to Our Mission

The service foundation:

  • Prior experience in customer service and/or medical background
  • Prior insurance and/or claims background preferred
  • Associate degree preferred in business, management, or related field
  • Experience in medical front office, hospital patient intake, or medical claims processing

The technical expertise:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Accurate data entry skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and multitask in fast-paced environment

The professional qualities:

  • Ability to manage high volumes of customer service requests
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently with excellent judgment
  • Capability to maintain regular, punctual attendance
  • Strong commitment to accuracy and quality in all interactions
