We're seeking a skilled software engineer who can support and drive delivery of new platform features while taking ownership of complex technical challenges. As our Software Engineer II, you'll leverage your solid grasp of our tech stack and engineering trends to develop solutions that enhance our web and mobile platforms while mentoring fellow engineers.

What You'll Actually Do

Build platform excellence: Design, code, and test new platform components, features, and enhancements for web and mobile platforms using Swift/Java/Kotlin technologies.

Solve complex challenges: Investigate and troubleshoot complex issues across our platform while monitoring and enhancing performance tools in production environments.

Drive technical strategy: Lead software architecture discussions, actively contribute to technical conversations, and help identify strategies to resolve technical debt.

Support sprint success: Assist team leads during sprint grooming, planning, and kick-off by providing estimates, raising awareness, and clarifying implementation details.

Mentor team members: Guide and assist other engineers while demonstrating ownership for development across team and cross-functional collaborations.

Create actionable solutions: Develop user stories to resolve production issues, technical debt, and improvement opportunities while prioritizing development user stories.

What You Bring to Our Mission

The technical foundation:

• 2+ years in software development role
• Fluency in Java and/or .NET (or similar technologies)
• Solid understanding of full software development life cycle
• Outstanding problem-solving skills with solid grasp of object-oriented programming

The development expertise:

• Experience developing services and APIs for web and mobile applications
• Ability to articulate and champion design strategies related to scalability, maintainability, performance, security, and usability
• Solid understanding of best practices including testing, monitoring, and design
• Capability to build maintainable, well-tested code beyond functional solutions

The professional competencies:

• Strong communication skills with openness to collaborate and enthusiasm for team delivery
• Passion and drive for learning technologies with ability to recommend pragmatic applications
• Ability to lead technical discussions while remaining open to learning from peers
• Partnership skills for working closely with product managers to refine products and solutions
