Responsibilities

Who are you?

 

The Benefit Eligibility Coordinator works closely with key external and internal contacts to ensure that clients’ eligibility and enrollments maintained accurately in accordance with their plan document. By building good rapport with clients, brokers, and vendors and optimizing the use of internal resources. As the Benefit Eligibility Coordinator, you will deliver a high level of service for our clients and members.

 

In this role you will wear many hats, but your knowledge will be essential in the following:  

  • Externally, the Benefit Eligibility Coordinator is the client/broker’s main point of contact for day-to-day processing of Eligibility requests, including new hire enrollments, plan/benefit changes, enrollment of dependents, and member terminations.
  • Communication with Medical, Dental, Vision, and PBM vendors is crucial when resolving access to care issues.
  • Responding to discrepancies identified by the vendors to ensure our eligibility data matches after each file transfer.
  • Internally, the Benefit Eligibility Coordinator researches and responds to inquiries from the Account Management team.
  • Working with the TechOps and Data Engineering team on file-related eligibility items and is in constant communication with the Member Services team to ensure eligibility-related issues are resolved timely.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1+ year of customer service experience
  • Experience with reporting tools and software
  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficient in computer usage with a strong command of Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with insurance database systems is an advantage.
  • Quick learner with a keen attention to detail.
  • Collaborative skills to achieve a common goal.
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to identify, analyze and solve problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $17.00 to $21.00 per hour. Note that compensation may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for health, dental, vision, mental health and other benefits.
