The ideal candidate for this role would reside in Phoenix, Arizona OR Chicago, Illinois

 

The SVP, Data is a transformative leader responsible for shaping and executing the enterprise’s data strategy to unlock business value and competitive advantage. The SVP will lead the drive to improve data operations, including ingestion, manipulation, transformation, and delivery & reporting for all stakeholders (e.g., clients, partners, brokers, members). In addition, the SVP will define and operationalize a comprehensive data governance framework, implement enterprise data policies, and establish the organizational structures, standards, and processes necessary to ensure data quality, compliance, and ethical use. Finally, the SVP will oversee the design and delivery of modern, scalable data architectures that support advanced analytics, AI, and digital transformation initiatives.

 

This role requires a balance of vision and execution- leading enterprise-wide data initiatives while directly engaging in hands-on problem solving, solution design, and technology decisions. The SVP will simultaneously live in operational and strategic worlds. The SVP will work closely with business leaders, technology teams, legal, and compliance to embed data governance and architecture principles into core operations, and foster a culture of accountability and innovation.

 

In this role you will wear many hats, but your knowledge will be essential in the following:  

  • Drive value through the day-to-day processing of required business, product, financial, customer, commercial, operational, and clinical data. Load files, process transactions, and ensure all EDI interfaces function.
  • Collect, integrate, and store data and metadata from across the organization, ensuring clean and available data for all users and applications, including client and member facing portals and tools. Ensure that master data is consistent and available. Drive self-service, collaboration, and access to data.
  • Establish data standards, policies, and procedures to promote data quality, consistency, and stewardship across business units.
  • Develop and lead the enterprise-wide data governance strategy, ensuring data integrity, security, privacy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Design and oversee the implementation of modern, scalable data architecture that supports analytics, AI/ML, and business intelligence initiatives.
  • Partner with technology, security, legal, and business leaders to align data initiatives with business objectives and risk frameworks.
  • Establish, run, and monitor a proactive system to ensure accurate and clean data across all data domains. Ensure that validation, cleansing, and measurement policies are in place and functioning.
  • Drive the strategy, tooling, data, assets, operations, and customer access for reporting categories including:
    • Performance guarantees monitoring and reporting (operational, clinical, financial)
    • Operational reporting for internal stakeholders (OKRs, claims, member services, etc.)
    • Quarterly and Annual Impact Reporting (ROI/PPR)
    • Dashboard/self-service access for clients (operational, clinical, financial)
    • Bespoke analytics for deep investigation and research on client and member data questions
    • Proactive analytics and insights on population health trends (clinical, operational, financial)
    • Loss forecasting and actuarial analyses
  • Create and champion a forward-facing view on how to monetize and extract more value from enterprise data via revenue model innovation, externally acquired data, more advanced AI, external data partnerships, or new products and services.

Qualifications

What you bring to the Personify Health team:

 

In order to represent the best of what we have to offer you come to us with a multitude of positive attributes including:

  • 15+ years of experience in data governance, data architecture, or enterprise data management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale data transformation programs.
  • Deep expertise in data governance frameworks, data privacy, and data compliance standards
  • Experience with data cataloging, master data management, and metadata management tools
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to influence at the C-Suite and board level

  • Deep understanding of data governance, frameworks, data stewardship models, and regulatory requirements (GDPR, CCPA, & HIPPA)
  • Solid understanding of data privacy laws, cybersecurity principles related to data, and integration of data security in architecture
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate vision into execution
  • Proven ability to leads teams in Agile or Hybrid delivery environments for data programs
  • Strong change management and organizational transformation capabilities.
  • Collaborative mindset with a focus on building enterprise-wide alignment
  • Ability to design data environments that support BI, analytics, and AI Initiatives

In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $250,000 to $300,000. Note that compensation may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for 25% target bonus/variable compensation as well as health, dental, vision, mental health and other benefits.
