Who are you?

In the role of Sr. Director Tax, you will wear many hats and your skills will be crucial in the following:

In this role you will wear many hats, but your knowledge will be essential in the following:  

Corporate Income Tax

• Assist the Company’s outside tax advisors in the preparation and filing of all domestic and foreign corporate and state income tax returns.
• Prepare year-end tax provision (domestic and international) and related footnote disclosures.
• Work with external tax advisors on various tax projects both domestic and international.
• Maintain knowledge of changes in tax regulations for the various taxing authorities and ensure corresponding changes are reflected in financial reporting and tax returns.
• Provide analysis of income tax law changes and provide management with detailed analysis of changes impacting the corporation.
• Research tax related questions and provide analysis of findings to management.
• Responsible for all audits being conducted by taxing jurisdictions

Indirect Tax

• Oversee preparation and filings of VAT and GST returns in applicable jurisdictions.
• Oversee administration and maintenance of Avalara sales tax engine and certificate management system
• Oversee state sales and use tax return process to ensure efficiency and accuracy of filings, in accordance with current tax regulation.
• Establish and maintain a process for monitoring accounts payable activity to appropriately capture sales and use tax on purchases.
• Provide analysis of all indirect tax general ledger accounts and ensure reconciliation to filed returns
• Stay abreast of sales tax regulations at the state level and provide management with detailed analysis of changes impacting the corporation.
• Coordinate with team to provide proper and accurate documentation to support returns to auditors, including GAAP and related regulators

Additional

• Lead and manage team of 3
• Identify and implement process improvement ideas.
• Support and lead departmental tax initiatives.
• Oversee transfer pricing benchmarking, agreements and calculations
• Prepare various potential Non-Resident Withholding returns as applicable
• Work with external advisors on annual FBAR filings
• Prepare personal property tax returns, accurately and efficiently, in accordance with current tax regulations.
• Work with external providers to ensure all annual reports are filed and ensure all entities are on file with registered agent
• Ad hoc special projects as needed

What you bring to the Personify Health team:

In order to represent the best of what we have to offer you come to us with a multitude of positive attributes including:

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, tax related field; Master’s degree is a plus
• A minimum of four years of work experience in a similar position
• Experience with producing and delivering results using varied media (i.e., multiple MS office formats, dashboards/visualization tools, and potentially other formats)

• CPA-eligible
• Self-starter who can work independently as well as part of a team.
• Ability to multi task and manage both internal and statutory deadlines.
• Three to Five years of Tax Accounting experience with progressive responsibility or a combination of experience and demonstrated leadership abilities through work progression
• Experience with NetSuite and Avalara
• Strong Excel skills including advanced formulas and pivot tables

In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $195,000 to $200,000. Note that compensation may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for 20% target bonus/variable compensation as well as health, dental, vision, mental health and other benefits.
